Ready to attend disabled persons

Having a disability should neither prevent nor limit anyone from enjoying his or her stay in Puerto Rico. As part of the Americans with Disabilities Act, hotels, airports and public transportation systems must be equipped with disabled-friendly equipment. So leave your worries back home and get ready to relax and enjoy your time off.

Tips for special travelers

  • Call the hotel before making the reservation and make sure it’s disabled-friendly.
  • Don’t forget to call restaurants before arriving so you can make sure they are wheelchair accessible.
  • The U.S. National Park Service offers a Golden Access Passport to all its properties, the ones located in Puerto Rico included, which grants free entrance to the permanently disabled.
  • Most travel agencies have special packages that offer customized tours for travelers with disabilities.
