Introduced in 2012, Porta Atlántico is Puerto Rico’s newest region, and it may soon become one of its most popular. Its combination of natural and manmade wonders, along with a fine complement of new hotels, makes this a destination worth getting to know.
Porta Atlántico is made up of the municipalities of Camuy, Hatillo, Arecibo, Barceloneta, Manatí, Vega Baja, Vega Alta, Dorado and Toa Alta. Located along the northern coast of the island, it offers an incredibly diverse array of attractions; from the stunning natural beauty of the Camuy Caves, to the astounding feat of engineering that is the Arecibo Radio Telescope, to a topography that lends itself to all kinds of outdoor sports and recreation, this region has something for every type of tourist... not to mention some of the best golf in the Caribbean.
We’re very excited about our newest destination, and we’re making it more enticing than ever with the arrival of several new hotels. Opening in 2012 are the Holiday Inn Travel Plaza in Arecibo, Hyatt Place in Manatí, Wyndham Barceloneta, and the Dorado Beach Ritz-Carlton Reserve, the first 6-star hotel in Puerto Rico.
We invite you to stay, play and explore in Porta Atlántico, and discover a whole new reason why Puerto Rico does it better.
