During the month of April, the vacationland town of Rincón takes center stage with its celebration of the Rincón International Film Festival. Entering its 4th edition, the Rincón International Film Festival was created with the sole purpose of supporting and promoting culture and the arts in Puerto Rico via film. Film students and professional filmmakers and movie lovers alike come together for an event that features the best independent comedy, drama, documentaries horror and of course surfing films, in both English and Spanish. At the end of the festival, over $4,000 in awards and prizes are handed out to the best Puerto Rican, Spanish language, American and International films.
The festival itself takes place all around the town of Rincón, with screenings at bars, hotels and inns such as the Lazy Parrot, Rum Shack, Rincón Beach Resort and Villa Cofresí Hotel and Restaurant.
